Redoutables, les basses se chargent des chaînons dissidents. Prédateurs, les beats s’improvisent en gardiens protecteurs. Julien Minet, French multishapen artist, owes his extravagance to an unusual curiosity as well as to a notable and multicultural sensitivity. His music is delivered as a universal message and is revealed through an original writing that plays with dramatic realities. With the Spacio Cat EP, Julien Minet, like in the imaginary world from Peter Pan, operates in these short presentations with a certain singularity.
Plaisir miroir (Mirror Pleasure) represents an anthem to eternal resurrection and embodies the awakening of our consciences. The whole track is punctuated with electronic phrases as a metaphor to the endless need of learning. Carried by guitars and vocals, the loops are similar to renewed dawns and allow the author to define his inner boundaries, lost between an immortal childhood and a mature ego.
The singer transforms his adventure into a true emotional quest in the illuminated poem: Anabelle. The listener goes on a journey with no return and is taken to a world led by love and self declaration. It is only in order to free himself from illusionary thoughts that he lets his muse Anabelle,voluptuous prisoner from the landscapes of Compostela, escape in a blink of an eye.
The Spacio Cat, the imaginary musical ship, goes on its surreal trip. From the first notes of Puits de joie (Well of Joy), the captain brings us to a universe where the atmosphere is blurred with disorientated feelings. In search of happiness that still lingers somewhere in hyperspace, Julien Minet shows that he is able to comfort entire galaxies with his songs.
Eventually, J’déambule dans la nuit (Walking in the night) announces a forthcoming return to Earth. The artist is making the experiment of his new powers and casts an amused eye on the codes of a bygone nightlife. The basses are remarkably loaded with links. Predators disguised in the beats are turning themselves into guardians.
