Neptune EP. Neptune, huitième et dernière planète de notre système solaire, Dieu romain des océans, mais aussi titre de la cinquante-deuxième sortie du label Boxon Records. Entre Mogwai, Brian Eno et consorts ayant travaillé la fibre Ambient de la musique électronique, François Ier axe son travail sur des compositions recherchées, visuelles et efficaces, ne tombant jamais dans la caricature.
Entre décors d’Atlantide et voyages spatiaux, l’artiste joue ici sur la dualité du nom Neptune et nous offre un voyage mêlant tridents, atlantes et autres léviathans, avec ce monde mystérieux, trop loin du soleil dont la robe azurée lui a valu de porter le nom du roi des mers. On se sent alors s’envoler, ou couler, au choix, dans un abîme sans fond. On ferme les yeux, hoche la tête.
La simplicité de ses compositions émerveille tant elle est efficace. Il n’y a plus rien, que la moiteur et l’obscurité de l’infini.
Jeune DJ Toulousain révélé par Boussole Records, François Ier n’en est pas à son coup d’essai avec cet EP qui suit le sublime « 1515 EP ». Après avoir partagé la scène avec Brodinski, Panteros666, Club Cheval, Monsieur Monsieur, Ateph Elidja, KorgBrain, Embrace, Duke Dumont, Eton Messy, Mangabey, La Petite Grande, Nu Circle; François Ier signe chez Boxon pour cet EP toujours simple, efficace, nous rappelant les nappes de clavier de Richard Wright ou les tribulations sonores de Brian Eno.

The EP. Neptune, the eighth and last planet of our solar system, Roman god of the oceans but also name of the fifty-second Boxon Records label release. Between Mogwai, Brian Eno and workers of Ambient field in Electronic music, François Ier focuses his work on thoughtful, visual and effective compositions without falling into caricature.
Between space travel and Atlantide decor, the artist is playing with the duality of Neptune name, offering us a trip mixing tridents, atlants and others leviathans. This mysterious world with his azure dress, too far from the sun, worth to bear the name of King of seas. And now, you’re felling like flying or flowing, choice yours, in a bottomless abyss. Close your eyes and nods.
His compositions are simple, yes, but incredibly efficient. Nothing else matters except the dampness and the darkness of the infinite.
François Ier, young DJ from Toulouse revealed by Boussole Records, is not on his beginnings with this EP which follows the sublime « 1515 EP ».
