Pour ceux qui ont suivi l’aventure, cela sera une petite révolution. Le premier album de WAT sort en octobre 2010 chez Boxon Records.
Né dans la déferlante des auto-producteurs des années 2000, au carrefour des influences, WAT s’est d’abord fait connaître comme destructeur de dancefloor, utilisant les claviers comme des guitares, livrant plusieurs maxis sans concession et ne cherchant pas de limite esthétique. Une sorte de crise de nerfs qui vous pompe votre énergie, mais finit par vous soulager.
Ne pensez pas que « WONDER » sera plus conciliant, bien au contraire. Tout au long de ses 12 titres, il caresse de près ce que WAT a toujours cultivé : un mélange d’influences très diverses, passées dans une centrifugeuse électro-rock.
« WONDER » démarre par « Digital Hero » et son thème épique, plaçant l’album sur les rails, offrant dès le départ une pierre angulaire du son WAT. « Now:System » et « Kill Kill » montrent qu’il est possible de faire flirter pop, rock et hip-hop, sans complexe ! Dans la foulée « Odyssée », instru électro-funk, plonge à 200 km/h au volant d’une décapotable. Flash. Stop. « Last Chance » et « Breathe With Me », plus rock, plus rugueuses, plus noires, calment les ardeurs pour clore le premier chapitre de l’album. Reprise du voyage où « Hot Dog Story », référence assumée aux grooves naïfs des années 80 et « Millenium », comptine sexy, assurent une transition légère vers une fin d’album électrique. « Circus Circus », ballade naïve et mélancolique se poursuit sur « Missile » qui s’élève dans un courant d’air et monte jusqu’à l’étourdissement. Enfin « Take Control », turbine new-wave enragée et « Wonder », final hypnotique, laissent planer un nuage sonore comme un souvenir qui s’évapore...

For those following our adventure, this is going to be a little revolution. W.A.T first album, « WONDER » will be released in October 2010 on Boxon Records.
Born in the auto-producer 2000’s frenzy, with a mix of influences, WAT first made themselves a name as dancefloor destructives using fingerboard as guitars. Their first LPs are uncompromising and free of any aesthetic limits. A sort of nervous breakdown that takes all your energy but leaves you relieved.
But don’t you think « WONDER » will be sweeter! All along its 12 tracks, this album gets closer to what W.A.T has always worked for: a mix of very different influences that would have been put into an electro-rock juice extractor.
« WONDER » starts with « Digital Hero » and its epic theme, which puts the album right away in its context, and lays the foundation stone. « Now System» and « Kill Kill» show that you can flirt with pop rock with no complex. Also, « Odyséée» and its electro-funk melody goes at 200 miles per hour with a convertible. Flash. Stop. « Last Chance» and « Breathe With Me», more rock, rougher and darker, close the first chapter of the album. The journey starts again with « Hot Dog Story», assumed reference to the 80’s naïve groove and « Millenium», a sexy story, which lead the album to its electric end. Then, W.A.T creates a naïve and melancholic walk over two songs, « Circus Circus» and « Missile», which rises up to feeling dizzy. Last but not least, « Take Control» and « Wonder», made of fanatic new-wave create a hypnotic final and leave up in the air a cloud made of sounds…

(FR) TAMBOUR BATTANT (Paris/Marseille). Est un duo formé de Ben & Nico, deux batteurs de formation originaires de la région d’Avignon. Au fil de leurs découvertes musicales entre rock, rap, électro et drum’n’bass, ils décident de composer leurs propres beats. En 2009 le groupe fait sensation au Printemps de Bourges. Après le succès de l’EP explosif « On The Ground », Tambour Battant revient avec un excellent maxi sur Boxon Records : « Yo ! ».
Vocal pitché et cuté au scalpel sur un beat électro house aux accents soca et hip hop, ce track est une synthèse parfaite des influences du duo, produit comme toujours avec brio.

. Pro7, fer de lance de l'écurie Boxon et de la scène fidget house frenchy, nous livre un remix puissant, musclé, qui donne une nouvelle saveur au track original. Une version dopée à la basse, organique en diable et dotée d'un beat monstrueux. Ce remix ultra efficace promet de faire des ravages sur les dancefloors. Definitely a banger !
. Youthman quant à lui surprend avec un refix qu'on pourrait qualifier de "new old school" . L'enfant prodige de la Bassline, auteur d'un récent album salué notamment par Gilles Peterson, s'amuse visiblement beaucoup à déconstruire le track autour d'un breakbeat malmené et de synthés vintage qui donnent à son remix une fraicheur très excitante.
. Prosper & Zamix, responsables ensemble ou en solo de quelques bombes chez Expressillon et Level75 notamment, proposent une relecture techno agrémentée de percus un brin tropicales et d'une basse synthé acide à souhait. Montant en intensité, tout en finesse, un track progressif et DJ friendly qui ravira les amateurs.
. MC2 vient de Marseille, et ce sont sans doute les représentants les plus pertinents de la vague glitch hop en France. C'est donc tout naturellement que Myosine et Ckel ralentissent le tempo pour en tirer un groove hip hop spatial. Les vocaux passés dans l'auto tune, découpés en mille morceaux et les synthés modulés à l'extrême n'y sont pas étrangers, pour notre plus grand plaisir.
. Jankenpopp enfin nous livre un ovni inclassable, d'une puissance rare, aux forts accents 8bits, qui passe par toutes les couleurs de l'arc en ciel. Flirtant autant avec l'électropical qu'avec le breakcore et le glitch, Jankenpopp est fou, et on en redemande.

. Youthman surprises us with a refix we could describe as new “old school". The child prodigy of the Bassline, author of a recent album, supported by Gilles Peterson, is having fun by destroying the track with a breakbeat and vintage synthesizers bringing an exciting coolness to the remix.
. Prosper & Zamix, producers of several tracks on Expressillon and Level75, are offering a techno remix mixed with tropical drums and an acid synthetic bass. A track made with keenness and progressive intensity.
. MC2 come from Marseille, they are the French glitch hop representatives. They pushed slow the tempo in order to transform the track into a spatial groove hip hop. Vocals fixed with Autotune, cut in thousands of pieces added to extreme synthesizers give us a cracking remix.
. Finally Jankenpopp delivers us an unclassifiable UFO, with an unusual mightiness power, with strong 8bits accents. Electropical, breakcore and glitch are gathered in a single track. Jankenpopp is an insane producer and that is what we love about him.

(FR) Bogart n'en est pas à son coup d'essai. Après avoir été sur les routes de plusieurs continents pendant 5 ans, joué au SXSW 2009 (avec Delphic, White Lies, etc.), le groupe revient et a bien l'intention de tout renverser sur son passage. Loin des baby rockers en vogue en ce moment, Bogart joue son rock comme il respire, sans être propret ou malléable mais tape dans le mille à chaque fois. Après avoir sorti en 2008 un prometteur premier album, ils reviennent en force avec leur nouveau single « Behold », sous le label bordelais et ultraproductif Boxon Records. Ils comptent d'ailleurs sortir leur nouvel album à la fin de cette année.
Ce qui se dégage dès la première lecture de "Behold" c'est son cynisme. Et même si elle parle de la représentation des êtres, de ce fait de cacher notre réelle personnalité, nos envies, etc., il est étrange qu'elle soit si parfaite pour danser, chanter à tue tête, et sauter de toutes parts. Car oui "Behold" est un morceau dance. Mais ne vous y fiez pas trop, derrière cette façade se cache une chanson profonde, humaine et bourrée d'influences. D'ailleurs l'EP de "Behold" est comme Bogart lui même : il se nourrit de rencontres.

. Johnny Boy: Nicky et Salo se rencontrent à Tours, fin 2005 pour former le complot Johnny Boy. Et plusieurs années plus tard, ils deviennent compagnons de tournée de Bogart pour quelques dates. L'alchimie se fait et Johnny Boy offre ici un remix à la sauce funk et vintage, qui dynamite la chanson de manière exponentielle.

. HOAXX: Jonny et James, sont un duo de Djs londonien pratiquant l'electro/indie/dance. Influencés par la pop 70s et la dance 80s, ils secouent le tout et apportent à « Behold » des sonorités plus « House Music ». . kiGma: le jeune et prometteur DJ bordelais, prochaine signature de Boxon Records, a eu ses productions playlistées par de grands Djs internationaux comme Laurent Garnier (sur la radio Le Mouv') ou encore Bobby Friction (sur la célèbre radio BBC Radio1). From the very first seconds of « Behold » its cynism is obvious. And even if it speaks about the perpetual representation of human beings, about hiding our real personality, our desires, etc., this song is perfect to dance, sing aloud, and jump everywhere. Because « Behold » sounds like a dance track. But don't be too confident, behind this there is a human and deep song, composed as life is: sad and joyful at the same time. And the EP of « Behold » is like Bogart itself : full of influences and meetings.

(FR) Costello DJ/ Producteur de 23 ans, a déjà sévi dans des labels de renommée internationale (Plasmapool, Party Like Us, Big Fish recordings, Dust Traxx Chicago) et remixé des artistes tels que Missil, Dilemn, Stereoheroes, Udachi ou encore Gooseflesh. Grâce à ses prestations musclées, sa fraîcheur empreinte d'une bonne dose de puissance, de technique, et sa culture electro 90s aux sonorités break, rock ou hip-hop il a réussi à se faire un nom. Le maestro de la bassline est désormais playlisté par les plus grands DJ's (David Guetta, Lazy Rich, Lee Mortimer, AC Slater, Calvertron, Steve Aoki) et radios spécialisées (BBC, FG, etc.), et sort « Get Crazy » sur le label français Boxon Records.
Sur la version vinyle, le titre Get Crazy (Original Mix), est accompagné de deux remix. Pour couronner le tout, NineLives The Cat (originaire de Sydney) pose encore une fois sa voix sur une des tracks de Costello pour une collaboration renversante. Une chose est sûre, ces titres ne vous sortiront plus de la tête.
En bonus sur la sortie digitale, trois titres : le Dub Mix et le Radio Edit, prouvent encore une fois le talent de Costello tandis que le Dub Mix de Will Bailey est le reflet du coup de coeur de ce remixeur (Crookers, Moby, etc.) pour ce morceau, puissant et inventif. Les tracks de cet EP vont mettre tout le monde d'accord quand à l'avenir qui attend le petit frenchy qui monte. It's time to Get Crazy.

(ENG) As you may already know about it, the artist COSTELLO (who is living in Bordeaux at the moment) is releasing his first EP on Boxon Records.
Costello, 23 years old DJ/Producer, already appeared in international labels (Plasmapool, Party Like Us, Big Fish Recordings, Dust Traxx Chicago) and made remixes of artists such as Missil, Dilemn, Stereoheroes, Udachi or Gooseflesh. Thanks to his insane shows, his youth influenced by a good dose of strength and technique, and his electro 90s sounding break, rock or hip-hop, he managed to make a name.
The maestro of the bassline is now playlisted by the most famous DJ's (David Guetta, Lazy Rich, Lee Mortimer, AC Slater, Calvertron, Steve Aoki) and specialized radios (BBC, FG, etc.). He's releasing now the « Get Crazy » Ep on the french label Boxon Records.
On the vinyl version, the title "Get Crazy(Original Mix)", comes along with two remixes. One by Will Bailey (Simma Records), and the other by Black Noise (Southern Fried Records, Ministry Of Sound), two artists in vogue of the actual UK scene. Different and complementary, each one of them bring new ideas, punchy breaks, clever vocals for an efficient final result and of a wonderful quality. To cap it all, NineLives The Cat (from Sydney), brings his voice on one of Costello's tracks for a stunning featuring. Something is certain, those tracks won't go out from your head.
In bonus on the digital release, three tracks : the Dub Mix and the Radio Edit, prove once again Costello's talent while the Dub Mix by Will Bailey (also remixer of Crookers, Moby, etc.) is the reflection of his new crush for this powerful and inventive track. Thanks to the tracks of this EP, everyone will agree about the brilliant future of the frenchy. It's time to Get Crazy.

TOM DELUXX (Bordeaux). Premier Boxon artist and half of the duo Just A Band, Tom Deluxx is a dj/producer with a solid reputation on the international electro scene. He has successfully managed to set the stage for renowned electronic artists, such as Justice, The Bloody Beetroots, Para One, Boys Noize or SebastiAn. Presently, he divides his time between producing superior tracks and spinning at the best clubs in the world. His next EP, called "Run", is set up for April 2010, on his home label: Boxon Records.

Listening to the track “Run” by Tom Deluxx, we immediately feel his dark side. With this outstanding production, the artist from Bordeaux is showing again his composing skills. Putting together all the most up-to-date ingredients into his new work, which he decorated with nice “hip-hop” vocals, “Run” automatically gives you the desire to dance.
Already compared to the sound of The Bloody Beetroots and of Justice, the electro by Tom Deluxx is melodic, sometimes heavy, and especially effective. Frenchy techno + hype sensations.
The vinyl (and digital) release includes the powerful remix of the Cyberpunkers, who put the track even more Dancefloor. Also present on the vinyl: the track “Reactivate” (until now, only available in digital) by Tom Deluxx.
